It's a Mom Thing Reviews & More!: Hot Chocolate Cookies

Hot Chocolate Cookies

One of my favorite things about the winter holiday season is baking cookies! It has always been a holiday tradition for us to make a few different types of cookies to give as gifts and serve as desserts during holiday gatherings.

One of my families favorite types of the cookies that we bake are Hot Chocolate Cookies! These few ingredient cookies are so simple to make and are ridiculously delicious! They have become a favorite of all of our family and friends.

One box Devil's Food Cake cake mix
1 TBSP milk
1/2 cup shortening (I like to use Crisco baking bars - so simple!)
2 large eggs
Powdered Sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine all ingredients and mix until blended. I like to use my mixer because it is so quick but you do not need to. Some small lumps may still be visible after mixing, they aren't a problem, just be sure to mix as well as you can. Roll dough into one inch balls and then cover in powdered sugar. Place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake between 7 - 10 minutes or until fluffy. Be careful not to overbake so that they do not end up very crunchy. Allow a minute or so for cookies to cool on cookie sheet then transfer to a cooling rack or plate. Now you are done and ready to enjoy! Store these cookies in an air tight container or bag in order to keep them soft!

I hope that your friends and family enjoy these cookies as much as mine do!
Have a wonderful holiday season!
