Back to school time is here and I can't help but to think about the hectic schedules that it brings along with it. After a long and busy day the last thing that I want to do is stand in the kitchen preparing an elaborate dinner. I do my best to find simple and delicious meals that my whole family loves and that takes me minimal time so that I can enjoy more time with my family. I know that when I have a busy day planned I can head to Walmart for their effortless meal solutions that save me time and money!

When you head into Walmart it is easy to spot these convenient meal options! Their shelves are filled with products that make dinner time simple for busy moms without lacking in quality. My favorite products to make meal planning simple are their meal bundles! These meal bundle options are
the Marketside rotisserie chicken meal which includes the 29 oz chicken, a 2lb side, and a 2 liter Coca-Cola product and the pizza bundle, a 16 in pizza paired with a 2 liter Coca-Cola product.

I love that when I purchase the Marketside rotisserie chicken or pizza I can take them and make them into a glamorous but simple meal! I love loading tons of fun toppings onto a cheese pizza and using the rotisserie chicken to make a fun meal or just pairing it with sides! I know that I can count on Walmart to make getting into back to school routines easier!

My husband loves the side options available at Walmart, his favorite though is the Red Potato Salad. He loves pairing it with the Marketside rotisserie chicken and a glass of Coca-Cola! While I enjoy this option, my favorite thing to do is take Marketside rotisserie chickens and kick them up a notch! There are so many things that you can do with a chicken, meaning that when I pick one up it leaves my dinner options open! I also love that there are reheating directions on the rotisserie chicken packaging.

One of my favorite dinners to make when I am in a rush are quick chicken tacos! I love taking the chicken from a rotisserie chicken, shredding the meat and squeezing half of a lime over it to keep it from getting dry. We set up a taco bar using our favorite taco ingredients corn and black bean salsa, shredded chicken, lettuce, cheese, and sour cream, and we each assemble our own tacos using the ingredients that we want. One of my favorite things about the nights that I make these tacos is I spend less time in the kitchen and more time eating with my family and enjoying our time together around the table!

Whenever we have chicken tacos I make my go-to corn and black bean salsa. It is very quick (takes about ten minutes), inexpensive (under $10), and delicious!

One can corn
One can black beans (rinsed)
Four tomatoes (you can use more or less)
Salt and Pepper
Chopped cilantro
One lime

Add the corn and back beans to a bowl. Dice your tomatoes and add them in. Stir all together. Add salt and pepper to taste. Chop some cilantro and add in. Stir all together. Squeeze half of a lime over the top and stir ingredients. Ta-da! You are done. A quick and easy corn and black bean salsa that will taste delicious on tacos!

  1. Oh wow! Your salsa looks delicious! I love how easy it is to pick up a Marketside Rotisserie Meal - it's our go-to option for those nights when we are rushing to get from point A to point B! #client

  2. This salsa is amazeballs. So easy to make and one batch makes a ton! Definitely a new addition to our taco night!!

  3. We love the Effortless Meals at Walmart! The chicken is the best...seriously. We probably buy it at least twice a month. The Red Skin Potato Salad is another fave as well as the one with egg in it (I can't remember the name - Amish Potato Salad?). I love how everything is right there so you don't have to walk all over the store to find it all.

Your corn and black bean salsa looks amazing & I am definitely pinning this post for later! Thank you!

  4. I also really love those chickens. We got one while we were on vacation for an easy dinner. Filling and super yum! I love the butter and garlic one. We also buy the potato salad weekly. Its one of the staples at our house like cottage cheese LOL.

  5. That salsa looks amazing! I like Walmart for quick meals too. Rotisserie chicken is my go-to in a bind! Your idea make tacos with this salsa.. I think I just found tonight's dinner. Chicken Tacos!!
