My Must Haves for Blogger Bash (or other blogging conferences)!

I cannot believe I am saying this but BLOGGER BASH IS IN A FEW DAYS! I am so ridiculously excited. I have spent the last few days shopping for new outfits, deciding on the perfect shoes, thinking about how to do my hair and nails, and writing lists about what I need to bring. Last year Blogger Bash was my first blogger conference and I was completely unsure of what I would need so brought way too much. This year I am prepared, have a bit more experience, and I am so ready to have fun and learn a bunch! I wanted to take a minute to share my must haves for Blogger Bash with those thinking about what they will really need! Hopefully this list will help you get prepared!

Comfy Shoes: Seriously, comfy shoes! I cannot stress this enough. Last year at Blogger Bash on the first day I wore a brand new pair of shoes that I later learned were ridiculously uncomfortable; I left with blisters and in pain! The next day I made it a top priority to wear comfy shoes. Remember that you will be walking around pretty much all day between getting to the venue, walking around the conference, and getting to a hotel or back home.

Crossbody Bag: Last year I made the mistake of bringing a tote bag and regretted it! At Blogger Bash (and at many other conferences) you receive a tote bag to fill with any informational papers, business cards, or swag that you may get. The perfect way to carry around the things that you bring is a crossbody bag that way you can toss it over your body and not have to worry about carrying it around!

Gum and Mini Brushes: During blogging conferences you will be talking to lots of people the last thing that you will want to worry about is stinky breath or things stuck in your teeth. One way to fight this is with mini brushes for after meals and gum for in between. Anytime that you are worried about your breath pop a piece of gum in your mouth for a bit.

Body Spray: As I mentioned earlier at conferences you will be walking around a lot. Many of us will also be taking subways, buses, or taxis which can be smelly. Blogger Bash and many other conferences also take place in the middle of the summer, so the last thing you want to deal with is smelling sweaty! One thing that I didn't bring with me last year but wished that I did was body spray. Before heading in or anytime that you feel like you need it give yourself a quick spritz for a refresh!

Hair Accessories: Last year I made the mistake of going the morning of Sweet Suite to have my hair blown out so that it looked perfect. Between the bus ride, the 90 degree weather, and all of the walking that we did throughout the day my hair looked like a hot mess about an hour into Sweet Suite. I ended up putting my hair up and out of my face so that I didn't have to deal with it. This year I am doing my hair myself but I am also bringing a few hair accessories (hair ties, clips, and a headband) so that if it does get bothersome I can put it up and not have to worry about it looking messy!

Pens: Many of the reps that you will meet do not have a brand name on their business card, only the name of the agency that they work for. It is important to write the brand down when you get these types of business cards so that you remember who the person is representing! Pens are also important if like me you enjoy taking notes the old fashioned way, pen and paper. There are so many great speakers with tons of tips or advice and you may want to jot everything down!

Portable Charger: I definitely recommend bringing one portable charger or more! Throughout Blogger Bash (or any conference you are going to) you are going to be posting on social media, following brands, getting other blogger's information, taking notes on your phone, and more. The last thing that you want to deal with is a dead phone. Portable chargers will give you a few extra hours of battery life. I also recommend bringing a wall charger. Many events have places you can plug in a recharge!

Business Cards: One thing that I quickly learned you need in the blogging world are lots and lots and lots of business cards! At events you will be passing them out left and right between reps and other bloggers. Business cards are one of the ways that reps from companies will remember you and the way that they will know how to get in touch with you. They are also the perfect way for other bloggers you meet to be able to get in touch with you!

I hope that these tips help you when planning for your next conference! If you are heading to Blogger Bash let me know in the comments or on social media!

    1. Thanks Cindy! I am looking forward to meeting you too! I saw that you were sick so I am hoping that you are feeling better!!

Since I live in North Jersey I didn't get a hotel so I wore the same outfit from morning til night. I also didn't want to miss anything so didn't leave at any point until it was over, haha.
