Strawberry Banana "Ice Cream" Recipe! - Alexandra

In my house we are ice cream fanatics. Any time we decide to have a treat ice cream tends to be our go-to. Ice cream of course isn't very healthy, especially not to have often. While scrolling through my Facebook newsfeed a few months ago I saw a friend share that if you freeze banana slices and blend them it turns to an ice cream like consistency. Seeing this gave me the idea of blending other things with the banana and making different flavors of this tasty treat! Shortly after one of our favorites, Strawberry Banana "Ice Cream" was made!

Our Strawberry Banana "Ice Cream" is so simple to make and makes enough for three people.

Ingredients:
Strawberries (sliced) - 1/2 cup
Bananas (sliced) - 2 bananas
Almond Milk  (regular milk if you prefer)
Honey - one teaspoon

To get started slice up some strawberries and put them into a freezer bag or a freezer safe container. Also slice up two bananas and put them in a freezer bag or freezer safe container. I usually leave them overnight but they should be frozen enough after 2-3 hours.

Once your fruit is frozen put the bananas and the strawberries into a blender or food processor. Mix them until they are in very small pieces. Add almond milk. I usually add one tablespoon but you may want to add more or less depending on your desired consistency. (We like for ours to be about soft serve ice cream consistency.) Blend until mixed. Add the teaspoon of honey, more if you prefer, and mix. Ta-da! You are all done!

If you want to make enough for more just add in some more bananas or strawberries then add in almond milk and honey to make it your desired consistency.

  1. If I wasn't allergic to bananas I would definitely be trying to make this. Luckily I am not that much of an ice cream eater-except in the summer-then give me a soft serve a day!

  4. I actually have a Yonanas that does this and it works really great, its almost the same way you do yours but just without the blender. Nothing like homemade and you know exactly what's in it.

  9. This ice cream looks so yummy. Only wish that bananas didn't make me burp so much.

  10. I buy a lot of bananas knowing I am not going to eat them all. I always have a few that go into a freezer bag so when I am craving ice cream, in the food processor they go. I have experimented with different flavors but I think chocolate and cashew butter is my favorite.
