Simple Peppermint Bark! - Alexandra

When I think of the holiday season one of the first flavors that comes to mind is peppermint! One of my favorite holiday treats is peppermint bark. Below is a simple and fast recipe for peppermint bark!

All that you need for this peppermint bark is a bag of white chips, a bag of chocolate chips, and candy canes! I like to use Ghiradelli chips, but you can use any type that you would like! You can also use milk chocolate chips, semi sweet chocolate chips, or dark chocolate chips.

First line a pan with aluminum foil or parchment paper. Next you can choose which chocolate you would like to be the bottom layer. I typically make the bottom layer white chocolate. Put the white chips into a microwave safe bowl and heat in the microwave for 45 seconds at a time until the chips are fully melted. Once it is fully melted spread it out on the tray that you have ready and allow it to cool.

Once the white layer is cooled down. Put the chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl and heat in the microwave for 45 seconds at a time until the chips are fully melted. Once it is fully melted spread the chocolate on top of the cooled layer.

Once you have the chocolate layer spread out evenly sprinkle your candy cane pieces over the chocolate.  We like our candy cane pieces to be very tiny so that it is not as crunchy but you can make the candy cane pieces whatever size you would like.

Once the candy cane pieces are sprinkled you can allow the chocolate layer to cool. You can leave it out to cool or put it in the refrigerator for a bit. Once it is fully cooled break apart into pieces.

Enjoy!
