OUR TOP HOLIDAY TOY PICKS OF 2014: LeapFrog LeapBand! - Alexandra

We were recently lucky enough to host a MommyParty with the all new LeapBands (you can see that post HERE) and decided during it that they would make the perfect holiday gift! Keep reading to learn why!

Before you can use the LeapBand you have to set it up using your computer and a downloadable program. Once the program is downloaded you connect your LeapBand, register for a parent account, and download the settings! This entire process took about ten minutes. Your child can then pick one of eight pets, choose its name, and choose its color. Each LeapBand comes with 14 challenges pre-loaded but parents can set up to 36 challenges. Some of these challenges include "jump like a frog" and "walk like a crab." There are also games on the LeapBand! The more points that kids earn by being active the more that they are able to play the games. Another fun feature of the LeapBand is that children are able to feed, groom, and care for their pets. By doing this they earn rewards to unlock more surprises. Kids can also help their pet to collect food to make healthy snacks and unlock fun nutritional facts!

LeapBands include a rechargeable battery, are water resistant, and have a high resolution screen. One of my favorite features is the school and quiet mode. You are able to program your LeapBand to only be available for play during certain times and it is locked during others as anything other than a watch!

LeapBands are one of our Top Holiday Toy Picks because not only are they fun but they encourage activity, teach healthy habits, and talk about nutrition. We think that this new device is an amazing way to make fitness fun!

  6. This does look like a great present idea! My girls wrists are still too small for even a wristwatch, but maybe soon!
