Eucalan Review! - Nicole

When I was approached to review Eucalan I was, and still am, elated! As many of you know, I am a cloth diapering fanatic. Because of cloth diapering, and children with sensitive skin, I am always on the hunt for the best laundry detergents out there that do the job and protect my needs. The downfall? Most of them don't smell like anything, which leaves me feeling as though our clothes and our diapers are not actually clean.

The name 'Eucalan' is a combination of the two most prominent ingredients in the original product recipe: eucalyptus and lanolin. Eucalan provides a no-rinse option for laundering. Cutting out that rinse cycle saves you time, energy and of course the added water - it also makes washing while you travel exponentially easier! Another great thing about Eucalan is that they uphold a commitment to the environment to be non-toxic, biodegradable and phosphate free. All of the Eucalan scented items are scented with pure essential oils and they plastic bottle that they are purchased in is even recyclable. You can use Eucalan in you top loader washing machine, front loader or even to hand wash if you so desire! Eucalan is ideal for intimate apparel, baby items, natural fibers such as wool and so much more!
Keep reading to learn about the different scents and what kind of beneficial qualities they provide!

There are five scents that Eucalan offers, and while you may choose one over another just for personal scent preferences - each scent also has its own beneficial qualities.

Natural - There are no added scents in this natural option, which makes it the best choice for those that do have scent sensitivities or for items such as hunting gear. This one is not my favorite, but as I already said - I feel like laundry with no scent doesn't seem as clean somehow.

Lavender - This scent is a natural moth and flea repellant. It is a natural antiseptic and has calming properties. Great for washing pets and their bedding, since it naturally repels fleas. I love this one to use on bed sheets, towels and pajamas!

Grapefruit - Another natural antiseptic with disinfecting properties, and would be an amazing scent for all items in general! The grapefruit scent is by my favorite. I washed one stuffed animal in this and had to go out and buy more to wash the rest of them for my kiddos!

Eucalyptus - This scent also naturally repels fleas and moths. Use this on items before you put them away for storage, such as old baby clothes awaiting their next round of hand-me-downs! My second favorite is definitely the Eucalyptus. I felt as though this scent remained the most potent after our clothes were pulled out of the dryer and put away compared to the other scents.

Jasmine - From the Wrapture line, Jasmine has infinite health benefits. Jasmine is a natural antidepressant, antiseptic, aphrodisiac among many other things. This scent was much more of a strong floral scent than I was expecting, but after washing it was very pleasant.

On to the last order of business, I have one more newer product to review: the Fragrant Balm. This is an all natural, vegan balm that contains no preservatives, color or petroleum. It is a bit more firm than most balms that you are used to, but I find that I like it that way. It melts easily by the body heat from your finger, and becomes the perfect consistency for massaging into stretch marks, using as a lip conditioner and my most favorite use to date has been as a diaper cream! It is packaged in a cute little tin, perfect for carrying around in a purse or diaper bag.

  2. This is new and very interesting. I currently use either Purex, Scentsy, or Xtra laundry products. When my kids were smaller and they had sensitive skin I would stick to any brand as long as it said FREE or was dye free then we switched to a natural organic brand... I usually get what I can afford at the time. I will be checking them out.

  3. I don't think I've ever heard of natural laundry detergents with scents like those! I need to get my hands on some of the Grapefruit & Jasmine scents. I would be in heaven after I washed my bedding with them!

  4. I have never heard of this brand before. Very new for me. Sounds like some really neat products though. My daughter has eczema so we always try to find something more natural for her.
