ShopDiaper.com Review! - Nicole

When I was first approached to review ShopDiaper's one size pocket cloth diaper I was far too excited than one should be over something your child defecates in!

For those that don't know already, there are many different styles of cloth diapers. In pockets there is a waterproof barrier material called polyurethane laminate, or PUL for short. This material is washable, waterproof, the film that creates the barrier is breathable so it helps to stop diaper rash, it stretches and it is hypoallergenic. On the inside of the diaper is a micro fleece fabric, which gives a stay dry feeling. Now, in order to make these diapers absorbent, you 'stuff' the pocket between the two fabrics with an insert. Typically diapers come with an insert, or two, made of microfiber. Keep reading to find out what I thought of ShopDiaper!

I received my diaper in a timely fashion, and had care instructions included along with one microfiber insert to stuff into the diaper for absorbency. Great! I tossed it in the wash to have it prepped and ready to go on the butt ASAP! Even though this diaper is meant to be a one size fits all, I would say that typically a newborn doesn't fit snug into the OS diapers. I did not try this diaper on a small baby, as my youngest was only one at the time - but I would guess that my previous statement applies to this diaper as well.

I was fairly impressed with the quality of the ShopDiaper when you consider pricing. If you're looking to get a foot in the door or cloth diaper on a budget, ShopDiaper would be a good place to start. I can't deny that my diaper has not held up as well as some of the other more expensive brands, but like I said: the quality for the price is well suited, so it is really a 6 of one vs. a half dozen of another situation. The elastics and snaps have maintained their quality extremely well. However, some of the stitching has begun to come apart after about 20 washes and the PUL has started to delaminate. The microfiber has maintained a nice fluff to it. This pocket diaper dries quickly, by line or on a tumble dry on low heat!

I feel as though I should add that I do not know if ShopDiaper is CPSIA compliant or not, but they do have other certifications that can be found here, which may make them a better option for our international readers.

You can get one of these one size pocket cloth diapers for free, with a minimum purchase of only $1 at ShopDiaper.com
